Are you currently accepting new clients?
Yes, I am accepting new clients.
How long does it take to get in for an appointment?
I try to accommodate new clients by providing an intake appointment within 48-72 hours.
Do you have appointments in the evenings or on weekends?
I strive to make appointments convenient for my client's by providing mornings, evenings and weekends.
Is what I share confidential?
The laws concerning confidentiality in California are very clear: What you choose to share with a therapist is confidential as long as the therapist does not suspect certain dangerous conditions. When clients share information about child abuse, elder abuse, suicide, homicide, or if the client is gravely disabled (unable to care for their basic needs); are areas where a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist is mandated to report this to the proper authorities.
I am depressed and using drugs/alcohol, can I see you for both?
I do work with individuals that have "co-occurring conditions" such as depression and addiction issues, however, you must have a reasonable amount of clean/sober time before I can begin working with you on your mental health issues. Please call to speak with me directly regarding this matter.
After I see you a few times, can I bring my significant other to a few sessions?
Once a therapeutic relationship is established between you and the therapist, it is best not to include a significant other in session. I recommend that you establish the need for "couples" therapy upfront, otherwise, I can refer you and your significant other to a colleague for "couples" services.
